Guided Fly Fishing in Tennessee and Kentucky

What you need to know before you go

I Provide the following for each trip

I would like to make the process of fishing with me as simple as possible, so below is the breakdown of what I provide and what you will need to bring when you book a guided fly fishing trip with me.

On all of my trips I will provide all of the fly fishing gear you will need to pursue and catch fish. This includes all fly rods and reels that are tailored to each type of fly fishing we will be doing for the day. Leaders, tippet strike indicators and flies, as well as any fly floatant or desiccant powder you will need.

On Full Day Guide Trips I provide a meat and two style lunch with desert, waters and sparkling waters as well as sodas. I always carry plenty of snacks like mixed nuts or snack crackers or fruit to munch on throughout the day as well.

On Half Day Guide Trips I provide snacks such as mixed nuts, snack crackers or fruit to eat throughout the day and I provide waters, sparkling waters and sodas.

Make sure you bring the following with you

Please bring a valid fishing license to include a Trout Stamp for the state we will be fishing in.  Fly Fishing is not as much fun when mother nature throws a lot at you so I suggest you bring a light fleece jacket, a good quality rain jacket, a good full brim hat or baseball style cap. Polarized sunglasses that fit your face well, quick dry apparel and a good quality sunscreen. We are very fortunate to have year round fly fishing so please dress accordingly. If you are fishing with me in the summer I suggest a good pair of river sandals like Choco’s or Teva’s or if we are fishing in the winter I would suggest you bring a good pair of waders and wading boots just to keep you warm and dry. I do not allow studded wading boots aboard any of my boats.

Meeting Times and Locations

I will call or text you the day prior to our fly fishing trip to discuss the meeting time and place based on the water flows and conditions for the day of our trip.  If the weather is going to be adverse or unsafe or if the water flows are not going to be conducive for at least opportunities of catching fish I reserve the right to reschedule our fly fishing trip at any time.

Please let me know if you or anyone in your party has food allergies or any medical conditions I need to be made aware of prior to our trip. If you have any special requests for lunches or snacks please let me know so I can try and accommodate you.

I do request you sign a release form. There is a link to the release form below if you would like to print it and bring it with you.  You can also access the licensing agents for both Tennessee and Kentucky by clicking the corresponding button below.
